They are bringers of calamity, |
Some are crazy drunken fools, |
There's amoral scum and randy scruff, |
Who disregard all rules. |
Some liken them to rampant weeds |
And wish them to decline. |
But they are hardy toilers for the land, |
About Threadfall's Time. |
There are wild bronzeriders, lazy shirks, |
Lusty greens and blues. |
Some are looters of the vaults of wealth, |
Their Weyrwoman always knew! |
They're a danger to the holder |
And his daughters all the time. |
But they are honest, sturdy riders, |
About Threadfall's Time. |
They can be all that's good and clean, |
Once in two hundred turns. |
But ladies hide, all Crafters duck, |
Each child about them learns |
When they walk through our gates, |
And to the Great Hall climb. |
But they're valiant Wings of labor, |
About Threadfall's Time. |
They see to our protection, |
And so we tithe for that. |
We honour them in song and tune |
And so can ride a'dragonback. |
They live in comfort and prosperity |
Since we bring them food and wine, |
As they once more save the Holders, |
About Threadfall's Time. |
They help us and they aid us, |
We give them everything we can. |
We tell them they're responsible, |
And hope it's fardling true |
We watch and wait for fall to pass |
Red star and stones still in line |
Oh, we all become Sharding fools, |
About Threadfall's Time. |
